Autumn King - A popular high yielding main crop variety with large, long, tapering roots that have a good colouring a flavour. Stores well for winter use. Prefers light, stone free soil that has been recently manured.

Chantenay Red Cored 2 - A popular main crop variety with broad wedge - shaped roots. High yielding with crunchy flesh and a small core. it can be harvested from a small size and will store well. Prefers light, stone free soil not recently manured.

Nantes - A very vigorous early variety with straight cylindrical blunt - ended roots with very little core. Strong tops make harvesting easier. Prefers light, stone free soil.

Carrots are incredibly versatile in the kitchen, they're one of the few veggies that can be eaten immediately after being pulled from the ground.
