Bedfordshire Champion - A classic variety which is still popular for its high yields of firm, globe shaped onions with succulent white flesh and a wonderful mild flavour. prefers fine rich well drained soil in a sunny position.

White Lisbon Winter Hardy (Spring) - A very hardy strain which is slow to form bulbs. Can be sown until late august for use the following spring, but is also ideal for spring and summer sowing's. prefers rich well drained soil.

White Lisbon (Spring) - A very popular, quick growing variety, with a pleasing mild flavour. A great addition to salads, stir fries and other summer dishes. prefers rich, well drained soil.

Spring North Holland Blood Red - colourful and mild tasting, dual purpose spring onions which can be left to mature into bulb onions, incredibly easy to grow, for use in salads and sauces or cooked dishes. prefers rich well drained soil.

Key Information:

• Can be grown in a greenhouse or outdoors
• Best grown in fertile soil or grow bags
• For indeterminate types provide support

Advice & Tips:

• Sow indoors, thinly in pots of seed compost
• Keep at approx. 10 - 15°C & keep moist
• Seedlings usually appear within 2 - 3 weeks
• Indoors - Remove covers when seedlings appear
• When large enough thin to 5cm apart , later thin to 10 cm apart
• Avoid frosts
• Pinch out side shoots regularly & pinch out growing tip after 4-6 trusses have set
• Provide support & tie up where necessary
• Keep moist & weed free
• Apply a liquid feed every 2-3 weeks when first trusses have set
• Bedfordshire - When tops turn yellow bend a little to assist ripening
• Winter Hardy & White Lisbon- For continuous crops sow every 2/3 weeks
• Spring North Holland blood red - In sheltered areas sow August - September for early spring harvest
