Growers Choice - Standard Propagator Set

This propagator set has 24 cell inserts and a clear lid making it ideal for growing seeds & the rooting of cuttings.

Fill cells with a good quality seed & cutting compost. Water thoroughly with a fine sprinkler. Place one or more seeds in each cell & cover with a fine layer of compost 2-3mm deep (check instructions on the seed packet for seed density). Water again immediately with a fine sprinkler. Cover with the lid & place in a bright position out of direct sunlight. As soon as seedlings begin to emerge, give them ventilation by propping open one side of the lid by about 10mm. As they grow, water regularly but lightly. When the roots are well established the plant is ready to be potted on.

The plants can be left in in the insert for a longer period to mature & then be transplanted into a patio container or hanging basket. (Ensure that the compost remains moist & use a mild dilution of liquid feed should the leaves become pale). Should this option be chosen: remove the lid before the plants reach the top. Remember never allow the compost to dry out - frequent watering may be necessary.
