JBA Seed Potatoes - Harry Second Early Variety

Harry seed potatoes are becoming a popular choice amongst 'grow your own' gardeners due to their versatility in the kitchen and their ability to provide consistent results every time they are harvested. Their medium sized, oval-shaped tubers have a white skin and a creamy yellow flesh, making them perfect for boiling, mashing, baking and even roasting.

This variety is high yielding and will give you a bumper crop of potatoes once harvested in the late summer months.

Key Information:

  • High yielding and versatile variety
  • White skinned with a creamy yellow flesh
  • Ready to harvest in July if planted in March

Advice & Tips:

  • Soon after purchasing, empty the seed potatoes into a shallow box, such as an egg box, and store them in a cool area protected from frost.
  • Two weeks before planting out, move the seed potatoes to a light area so that they can produce a strong, thick sprout - make sure they are rose eye upwards. When exposed to light, the potatoes will turn green - this is normal.
  • When planted into the ground, each potato should be approximately 25cm from the next, with rows spaced approximately 60cm apart. The potatoes should be approximately 15cm into the ground.

Useful Information:

When to sow: March onwards
When to Harvest: July-August
Culinary Use: Excellent for Boiling, Mashing, Roasting and Baking
