JBA Seed Potatoes - Winston - First Early

Grow your own Winston variety potatoes this spring with this set of seed potatoes from Jamieson Brothers (JBA) - with their white skin and firm, cream coloured flesh, this variety are a great choice for baking, boiling and chipping purposes.

The Winston variety has a high disease resistance and can be ready for the summer months if planted out in March/April.

• White skin with firm, cream coloured flesh
• Smooth, short to oval shaped tubers
• Excellent disease resistance

Advice & Tips:

• Soon after purchasing, empty the seed potatoes into a shallow box, such as an egg box, and store them in a cool area protected from frost.
• Two weeks before planting out, move the seed potatoes to a light area so that they can produce a strong, thick sprout - make sure they are rose eye upwards. When exposed to light, the potatoes will turn green - this is normal.
• When planted into the ground, each potato should be approximately 25cm from the next, with rows spaced approximately 60cm apart. The potatoes should be approximately 15cm into the ground.
